Associate Clinician
Position Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Hourly
Reports To: Director of Willow Branch Counseling
Compensation: $30 – $50 an hour
Location: Fair Oaks, CA
Position Summary
Willow Branch Counseling is a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to expanding access to quality, affordable mental health care throughout the Greater Sacramento region. Our mission is to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed counseling services with a special focus on serving Slavic immigrant and refugee communities, including Russian-speaking and Ukrainian-speaking individuals and families, while welcoming clients from all backgrounds.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Associate Clinician to provide high-quality mental health services within a community-based counseling setting. The Associate Clinician will provide therapy services to individuals, couples, families, and groups while receiving supervision and continuing professional development toward licensure.
The ideal candidate is committed to clinical excellence, cultural humility, professional growth, and increasing access to mental health care for underserved populations.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide individual, couples, family, and group psychotherapy services.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and clinical best practices.
- Integrate clients’ cultural, spiritual, and faith-based preferences into treatment when clinically appropriate and requested by the client.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
- Coordinate care with physicians, schools, community agencies, and other providers as clinically appropriate.
- Assess and respond appropriately to crisis situations, safety concerns, and mandated reporting obligations.
- Participate in individual, triadic, and/or group supervision in accordance with California Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements.
- Adhere to all applicable legal, ethical, HIPAA, and Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements.
- Maintain a caseload consistent with assigned hours and organizational productivity expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
- Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC), or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Ability to legally work in the United States.
- Successful completion of Livescan fingerprint clearance and background screening.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Commitment to ethical clinical practice, professional growth, and lifelong learning.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Russian and/or Ukrainian.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with immigrant, refugee, multicultural, or faith-based populations.
- Experience providing tele-health services.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment approaches.
- Familiarity with the unique cultural experiences and mental health needs of Slavic communities.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and organizational needs.
